The damnedest thing just happened…

March 22, 2012

I found this blog again.

Weird.

Well.

A lot’s changed.

148 UA Shadower in KMS, 120 TB in KMS, 35 Phantom in KMS, 34 Mikhail in KMS, 170 DB in GMS, 133 I/L AM in GMS, 100 TB in GMS, 8x Cannoneer and DS in GMS, 40 BaM in GMS…

And damn, this shit is boring.

All the new classes consistently SUCK.

Just give me something goddamn original, Nexon. Stop recolouring skills and make something actually COOL. Phantoms and Mikhails were shit.

A new beginning…

November 21, 2011

Well, I take back what I said earlier.
I now do play KMS.
Thanks to those wonderful people over at Leafre.net, I now have an account, and am currently playing a Thunder Breaker, a revamped Cygnus Knight, in Culverin.
I plan to get it to 120 and get my UA in time for the thief/pirate updates, which makes everything work out perfectly.
Accordingly, I’ll be a lot less active in GMS.
My only commitment right now is getting my I/L mage to 121 by this Thursday at 21:30 server time.
I have to do it because that damn event book for Arcane Aim expires then, and I need to use it.
Because really, I won’t be able to afford that book any other way.
Currently 107. All I really need to do is get to 110 and my way is clear, due to LHC being absolutely fantastic exp. That and a 4 hour 1.5x exp coupon which stacks with family buffs and HS, making an episode of 2.7x for 45 minutes and 2.25x for the other 3 and a quarter hours very possible. At LHC that is pretty damn fantastic exp.
I’m going to try to get some images of my characters up soon, so you can see all my swag.
Yeah, no. My I/L looks like a level 70 with a pyrope wand and the Growing Up perma cash equips that I got when I created it. At least it masks over that hideous Marbas hat.
My TB has generic level 30 pirate equips (from the Cygnus Knight revamps, free equips until level 70 = win), and is indistinguishable from any other TB.
At least my DB looks like a pimp. Pity I lost my red afro.
I wonder where I can get my hands on an extraction program…

Take Two

November 11, 2011

Okay.

Disregard that last post.

I made it so long ago, I can barely recognize it.

Things have… changed.

I’m now 164 on my main, and 102 on my I/L.

I’m still not rich, but I’m doing… better.

The game’s changed, though.

In three months, the game’s been changed so much I can hardly recognize it.

I forgot about this blog, and now I’m going to try to catch up.

Since it’s relevant, I’m going to cover what’s happened to me over the past 3 months and what’s happened to the game (GMS and KMS).

When I posted, it was before the 5th part of Chaos came out. Spoiler alert to those who have been under a rock for 3 months: we got a crappy new PvP mode and a copy/pasted version of Monster Book from JMS.

A month and a half later, we got Ascension.  Same as it was in KMS.

Just recently, about 3 weeks ago, we got another copypaste from JMS: monster familiars. That and some new invention form GMS called sidekicks. More on them later.

Of course, Nexon screwed up familiars. Only familiars level 70 and below dropped, they were time limited, and the droprate was equivalent to that of an Angelic Blessing Ring recipe or a Lunar Dew.

In KMS, the final section of the Temple of Time was released.

Then more blah.

Recently, Nexon Korea has started some new skill revamps, culminating with the long-awaited Pirate and Thief updates in December!

They’ve already revamped the Resistance, Aran, and Evan in October, and the patch for November, Magician/Warrior/Archer/Cygnus/UA update was just released into Tespia today. Read it all at Shakar’s blog, Max (Orange Mushroom)’s blog, or simply on Southperry.

Now, I get to talk a little.

What?

I’ve been talking for the entire time?

Shut your mouth.

When Ascension hit, I started to level my level 13 magician, Intception.

As I previously mentioned, he’s now level 102.

Frankly,  he’s now the only thing that keeps me playing.

Getting 143,789,844 exp to level my DB is rather hard, especially with school and a lack of motivation.

I also lost my prized red afro.

Well, that’s all for right now.

Maybe I’ll start posting here more.

Hell, maybe I’ll start extracting GMS.

You never know.

So it starts…

August 2, 2011

Hi!

For anyone who doesn’t know me (okay, this will be all of you), I’m RaulMonkey, and this is going to be my blog. This is going to be basically entirely about MapleStory, and my adventures (and trials) playing it.

I’m going to try to keep the blog updated every couple of days, but I do have other concerns, so I may not be able to post sometimes, because of school, sports, or other issues. I’ll try to give advance warning, but if I disappear, there’s probably a good reason.

Here’s some basic info about me on MapleStory:

Main: RaulMonkey, level 152 Dual Blade (Galicia).

Mining/UA mule: WhatsaUA, level 42 Dawn Warrior (Galicia).

Herbalism/glasses mule: DaSwagDragon, level 52 Evan (Galicia).

Idonteven: Intception, level 13 Magician (Galicia).

Something: SirFullSwag, level 18 Aran (Chaos).

And those are all the characters that I actually sometimes play on.

I also am on Southperry (http://www.southperry.net/member.php?u=8396), and BasilMarket (http://www.basilmarket.com/user/darkmonkey13). People from Basil may know me as Raul the Riddler.

That’s me, 8/1/11. As you can see, I’m in the Rextons map. I was trying to get some KFA’s, pot scrolls, recipes, or maybe even some TT30, but all I could find was some crappy level 120 Int shoulderpad recipes. Eh.

I’ve been playing Maple ever since something like 4 or 5 years ago, on a friend’s account. I stopped after 6 months or so, and didn’t start playing again since about a year ago. I’d always  liked thieves, and Dual Bladers had just been released in GMS. I started with a DB, and loved it. I’ve never really been able to train on another type of class after that, which explains my other characters, all of whom’s levels are around 1/3 or less of my main’s.

Now, I’m going to make some things clear to everyone. You may disagree, and I’m fine with that. But remember that this is my blog, and I decide what happens (and what doesn’t).

  • No racism. Of any sort.
  • No flame wars in the comments (unless it’s with me).
  • No asking me stupid questions. This can range from “What’s the price of tea in Scania?” to “What’s the GMS 5th Exclusive Part of Chaos going to be?” to “How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?”
  • No excessive profanity. You can swear a couple of times, if it’s appropriate, but if you post saying “FUCK THIS FUCKING SHIT THIS FUCKER FUCKING SCAMMED ME!!! I’M GOING TO FUCKING RIP HIS FUCKING BALLS OFF AND STICK THEM UP HIS FUCKING ASS!” or something like that, I’m not going to allow it.
  • Please make sure your comments are readable and coherent. Google Chrome has an auto-spell checker, and you can also use something like Microsoft Word to check. If you don’t know how to spell a word, then don’t use it, or ask someone IRL. Or just don’t use it.
  • This is a GMS blog. I may post something about KMS, but I will not be covering KMS content extensively. I do not have a KMS account. I do not have an EMS account. I do not have a ThMS account, a MSea account, a CMS account, or any accounts in another version of MapleStory.
  • No insults about sexual orientation. Calling someone a fag isn’t going to happen on my watch.
  • Keep the conversation ABOUT THE TOPIC AT HAND. If the topic is MapleStory, keep it on MapleStory. If the topic is how Arsenal, my favorite soccer team, won the Champion’s League, keep it about soccer. You get the point.
  • Don’t post your personal information. This isn’t a social site, either.

I’m not super-duper pro. My range isn’t great. My %luk is only around 20%. I consider 400m to be rich for me. I’m not a Nx-whore. I’m not a damage-whore. I do like rare things (like trying to get Vampire on my DB, or the Rex’s Hyena Mount, or the DAB ring), but I won’t go buy them. I’ll hunt them.

As a last note: I’m not infallible. I can be wrong. My word is not scripture. If I’m wrong, please tell me, show me your source, and I’ll change it ASAP.
